Automakers Toyota, Yamaha, and BYD are now allowing Bolivian customers to purchase vehicles using USDT. Tether, the primary operator of USDT, confirmed the transactions, facilitated by BitGo, a crypto security firm. The shift comes after Bolivia lifted its cryptocurrency ban. The decision is a response to Bolivia’s severe US dollar shortages, with images from Bolivian dealerships promoting USDT as a “fast, easy, and safe” payment option. Tether’s CEO highlighted their active role in enabling these transactions.
