The collaboration between Binance and Circle reflects an evolving cryptocurrency landscape, emphasizing the growing demand for regulated, yield-bearing assets. It highlights Binance’s commitment to offering innovative financial solutions to its institutional clients.
Binance has announced the integration of Circle’s yield-bearing USYC asset, a strategic move in the tokenized RWA sector.
The initiative will allow Binance’s institutional clients access to tokenized U.S. Treasury-backed yields, enhancing their trading capabilities. Circle, now listed under the ticker CRCL, has advanced its stablecoin offerings with USYC, following its acquisition of Hashnote, a tokenization specialist. The partnership aligns with Circle’s expansion into tokenized treasuries and institutional blockchain rails.
The integration allows USYC to serve as eligible collateral for Binance’s derivatives trading and custody services via Ceffu. USYC is a tokenized money market fund backed by U.S. Treasury agreements and onchain assets totaling approximately $686 million. These enhancements offer Binance’s clients capital-efficient yield opportunities through regulated collateral.
Circle’s acquisition of Hashnote underscores its strategic shift towards tokenized money market funds, emphasizing compliance with securities regulations. Circle’s public listing on the NYSE further cements its standing in the cryptocurrency and financial markets. Binance has taken a prominent step by expanding capital-efficient offerings for institutions, according to Catherine Chen, Head of Binance VIP & Institutional. By leveraging Circle’s yield model, Binance aims to reshape how institutional clients engage with digital assets, emphasizing secure, regulated yields with transparent backing.
“We’re committed to building secure, accessible, and capital-efficient offerings for institutions. The integration of USYC into Binance’s trading environment represents a major step forward in our support for the future of capital markets.” – Catherine Chen, Head of Binance VIP & Institutional, Binance
